8kms south from the city centre lies Wilson, a suburb on the north bank of the Canning River.

Whilst the river forms the southern boundary of Wilson, Manning Rd defines the northern boundary.

The suburb lies within the City of Canning, with Bentley and Cannington as neighbouring suburbs.

Local schools include Wilson Primary School and Rehoboth Christian Primary.

The area is primarily residential, with lovely walkways along the river and scenic parklands.

Residents can enjoy an array of sporting clubs, including Canning Buffers Football Club, CN Canning International Sporting Club, Willetton Crows Cricket Club and Canning Sea Scouts.

Being a small suburb, the population of Wilson is only around 6000. Parts of Wilson have some modern quality homes and the area is generally very well maintained. Whilst the suburb is close to Curtin University, the demographics of the residents show a wide range in ages, with Castledare Retirement Village and Wilson Retirement Village available for the older residents.
